Short History of HSAA

The HSAA sports program had its humble beginnings in 1995 when a group of homeschool dads and their sons decided to form a junior high recreational league baseball team. They called themselves the Angels, named after the major-league baseball team, California Angels. In 1997, HSAA became an official entity when it incorporated as a non-profit organization. Also, in 1997, it added High School Boys Baseball and High School Boys Basketball. A Girls High School JV Basketball team was formed in the winter of 2000, and the following season, Middle School Boys and Girls Basketball teams were introduced into the HSAA sports program. In the fall of 2002, HSAA began to offer Girls Volleyball at both the high school and middle school levels. Finally, most recently, HSAA introduced homeschool tackle football to the D/FW area, where it fielded both high school and middle school teams.

During the 2006-2007 school year, HSAA sponsored 21 teams in 4 sports at the Varsity, JV, and Middle School levels.
