 HSAA General Football Information 2011

 

Inviting all homeschooled boys who will be in the 6th–12th grade in the Fall of 2010 to play competitive football against private and home school teams. Practices begin on August 2, 2010.

 

This is 11-MAN TACKLE FOOTBALL. We are forming the following 2010 Fall Teams:

    1. 7th Grade (6th graders allowed to try out)

    2. 8th Grade

    3. High School Varsity

 

(*6th graders will be evaluated by the coaches, and a decision will be made on an individual basis.)

Forms and payment due Monday, August 2nd

Fees: $650 if you attended Spring Football; $725 if you did not

 

Please do not give any forms to the coaches. Forms are available in the Forms section of the website:  www.hsaa.org     All paperwork must be submitted in order for your player to participate in practice.  I will notify you prior to August 2 if there is anything missing for your player.

 

Prospective Players:

Please mail forms and payment to Celia Kinville prior to August 2nd. Celia will also be collecting forms and payments on Monday, August 2nd and Tuesday, August 3rd at the practice field. Please mail or bring the following:

 

1.     2010 HSAA Football Application (2 pages, signed by parent/player)

2.     HSAA Medical Authorization and Release

3.     Copy of current physical (form may be provided by doctor)

4.     Player Contract

5.     Parent Contract

6.     Check made out to HSAA for $725

PRACTICE SCHEDULE:

August 2 - August 20 - 6:30 to 8:30 pm at Lake Highlands Field in The Colony.

Monday – Friday

 

Saturday, August 7 @ 7:30–8:45AM,

August 9 -12 (Mon-Thurs.) @ 6:30-8:00AM

Additional conditioning practices held at Point North Park in Richardson

 

August 23 - End of Season:

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 6:30 – 8:30 pm at Lake Highlands Field in The Colony.

Wednesdays:  5:30 to 7:30 pm at Point North Park in Richardson

 

Mandatory Parent Meeting – Monday, August 9 at 6 pm - One parent must attend.  Coaches will discuss expectations and answer your questions.  Volunteer sheet will be available.

Team/Individual Photos – Monday, August 23, 7:00–8:00 am at Clark Stadium in Plano

PRACTICE:

August 2 - August 20 - Practice will be from 6 to 8 at Point North Park in Richardson - Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri

 

August 23 - End of Season -

Mon & Tues 6:00 – 8:00pm - full pads/contact. 

Wednesday 5:30 – 6:30pm “walk-through" - helmets, no pads

Thursday - game day

 Friday - off (Varsity Football games) The exception will be Friday, Sept 17 and Friday, Oct 15 - those will be film nights - more details to follow.

 

Week 1 - NO CONTACT - Players need to wear shorts, t-shirt, cleats, mouth guard, and helmet.

Week 2 to the end of the season - full contact with full pads. 

 

Mandatory Parent Meeting - Tuesday, August 10 from 5:30 to 6:00 - One parent must attend.  Coach Duncan will discuss expectations and answer your questions.  Volunteer sign-up sheet will be available. It takes all of us to run this awesome program, so please volunteer where you can.
