Practices begin in August (high school) and late September (middle school) with games typically scheduled from November through February. The Homeschool Christian Nationals Tournament in Springfield, Missouri is typically mid-March. HSAA schedules games against area Private, Christian, and Parochial schools, as well as homeschool teams from other cities. HSAA does not create or sponsor spring/summer teams. In the past, players from HSAA teams have connected to form spring/summer teams, but HSAA does not involve itself in the arrangement and/or support of such teams.

QUALITY
OF PLAY
This is competitive basketball, with no substitution rules. Unlike Rec Programs, there is no guarantee of playing time. Playing time will be based on skill-sets, hustle, ability, performance, not to mention attitude toward your teammates and others. If applicable, HSAA may provide professional training opportunities. HSAA is NOT, however, a win-at-all-cost organization. Our goal is to provide a high-quality, balanced program where talented athletes can grow physically and spiritually and where Jesus Christ is honored in all respects.
COACHING
PHILOSOPHY
HSAA basketball coaches are volunteers. Parents may be asked to help provide logistical support. If you feel you have a skill that you could use to help the program, please let us know. Also, our coaches have full-time jobs and are taking personal time from their families to support our program. Please remember this, and stay flexible.
In a nutshell, we stress to our players that all we do reflects who we are in Christ.
As such,
we expect our players (and families) to be model athletes, exhibiting
Christ-like behavior in all our interactions with our coaching staff, opponents,
and referees.
