STATEMENT OF FAITH

The Bible is the only inspired, authoritative, infallible, and inerrant word of God.

Its very words are God-breathed. It is necessary to teach not only about our salvation but also about the conduct of our life.

There is only one living and true God.

He is an intelligent, spiritual, and personal Being, the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe. He is one Being who eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, without division of His nature, essence, or being.

Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the second Person of the Trinity.

He is both fully God and fully man. By His perfect obedience and sacrifice of Himself on the cross, He has fully satisfied the justice of His Father, and purchased not only reconciliation, but an everlasting inheritance in heaven for believers. He was visibly and bodily resurrected from the dead.

All people are born in sin due to the effects of Adam’s rebellion.

They are forgiven of their sins through our Lord Jesus Christ. Salvation is by God’s grace, through the means of human faith. Believers are enabled by the Holy Spirit to obey God’s commandments.

Marriage is defined as the union of one man and one woman.

All sexual acts outside marriage are prohibited as sinful. God created us in His image: Male (man) and female (woman), sexually different but with equal personal dignity. We affirm our biological sex and do not seek to change it.

Every human life is sacred.

From the moment of fertilization until natural death, every human life is sacred because every human life has been created by God in His image and likeness.

NOTE:  All Board Members, Commissioners, and Coaches are required to sign this statement indicating their agreement with it. Although athletes and their parents / guardians are not required to sign the statement of faith, we want all athletes and their families to know that our Christian faith is an integral aspect of HSAA. Our athletes and their parents / guardians are expected to respect our Christian faith, and their actions at any HSAA function (or in relation to HSAA) need to reflect Christ and glorify God. Athletes represent HSAA, and their behavior and social media should not be in conflict with our Christian faith as presented in this Statement of Faith.
