About HSAA Soccer

First, and foremost, the Dallas HSAA Soccer program exists to provide homeschooled athletes (both boys and girls) with competitive and developmental soccer experiences in a Christian atmosphere. Our organization is committed to providing athletes with skill instruction while modeling and teaching Christian character traits, including self-discipline, self-respect, respect for authority, and good sportsmanship.

General Information

Eligibility

HSAA Soccer is open to homeschool athletes in 6th-12th grade. Please read the eligibility requirements here.
Middle school athlete must be 11 years old and no older than 15 by September 1st of the current school year.
High school athletes may be 14 years old and no older than 18 by September 1st of the current school year.

Player Expectations & Appearance Guidelines

All players are expected to adhere to the player expectations and appearance guidelines. These can be found on the HSAA home page under "Forms."

Registration ‍

New players must complete the HSAA General Registration.

New and returning players must complete the Tryout Registration, including birth certificate, medical release forms, and valid sports physical.

Once offered a spot on the team, all athletes must complete the Soccer specific registration including birth certificate, medical release forms, valid sports physical, season dues and uniform orders.

You will have the opportunity to upload & complete all the necessary forms during the online registration process. Please have a copy of your birth certificate and a current sports physical handy when registering.

Middle School Fees (6th-8th grade)

Nationals Tournament (National Team Members only) $350

Uniforms

We update our kits every 2-3 years.  

Required Items: jersey (MS away only; HS home and away), shorts, socks, & backpack with player number.  

If you purchase additional socks or shorts separately, they must match the original kit items.

All players must have an HSAA backpack with the correct jersey number on it. Once purchased, the HSAA backpack may be used for all subsequent years in the program, as long as the number corresponds to your current jersey number.

Sideline Gear:  Only HSAA gear and colors are allowed on the sideline.

Players on the sideline during HSAA events are allowed to wear their HSAA uniform, HSAA soccer spirit wear, or solid Navy or Black pants, & solid Navy, Carolina Blue, or grey sweatshirt/jacket.  If it’s cold enough for a thick winter coat and blankets, you may wear what you have, though team colors are preferred.  

Optional spirit wear can be ordered at any time throughout season.

No club gear (hoodies, warmups,backpacks, etc.) will be allowed on the sideline.    

Payments

All registration and uniform fees are due at the time of season registration.

There is a payment plan option offered through the registration platform.

Fundraisers & Donations

We hope to provide various fundraiser opportunities throughout the summer and fall. If you are interested in organizing a fundraiser please contact soccer@hsaa.org.

At any time, you may have donations made on our website.  We welcome local businesses to participate in sponsorship oppertunities as well.

Season Info:

Tryouts

Tryouts are held mid to late August. Because team placement resets each year, athletes are encouraged to attend as many tryout dates as possible.

Coaches evaluate player skill, attitude, coachability, and commitment to the team to determine if HSAA is a good fit for each student athlete.

Coaches will be in communication with athletes throughout the tryout process. Any necessary cuts will be communicated prior to the registration deadline.

Practice

Practice is held for 1 ½ to 2 hours, twice a week during the fall.  Practices times and locations fluctuate from year to year, but are generally in the Plano/Richardson area. Please contact one of the coaches for specific information. Once games get underway in early November, practices will only be held at the coach’s discretion during weeks with few games.  

Games

We play during the winter season (November to February) against other local school teams, mostly private schools.  It is a competitive season and play time is not guaranteed.   You can expect to have 1-3 games a week across the DFW metroplex.  Players will be expected to arrive 45-60 minutes early for all games to provide ample warmup time.  This time is also used as a short practice since we do not hold weekly practices during winter season.

Parent Volunteers

‍HSAA Soccer is a volunteer-run organization, including all coaches,directors, and admins.  With that said,we cannot run without additional volunteers!  All HSAA Soccer families are asked to volunteer in some capacity throughout the season.  Some examples of volunteer positions are team manager, team photographer, fundraiser coordinator, end-of-year program coordinator, potluck coordinator, spirit wear coordinator, uniform coordinator, first aid kit organizer, tournament coordinator, and more.  If you see a need you can fill, please step in and help! Many hands make light work!

Sportsmanship

All players and parents are expected to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner on and off the field. When attending sporting events, you are representing your team, the HSAA organization, and most importantly Christ. Poor sportsmanship on or off the field will not be tolerated. If you have an issue with our coaching staff or other HSAA personnel, we ask that you allow a 24-hour cool-off period before initiating a conversation.
