Mark Mulder
Varsity Boys Assistant Coach
Mark and his wife, Lirio, are the proud parents of two boys: AJ (16) plays for HSAA 16U and 18U Basketball. AJ has also played HSAA Soccer, and his older brother, PJ (18), played four years of HSAA Varsity Soccer.
Coach Mark is excited to be back as the Assistant Coach of the 16U and 18U Blue Boys’ Teams for 2025-26! He had a great time last year working with Coach Boyd to find effective ways to train the boys in the game of basketball, and teach them Christian principles as we come alongside their parents to raise men of strong character.
This will be Mark’s fifth year Coaching in the HSAA Basketball program. Coach Mark was the Assistant Coach of the 12U Blue Boys’ Team (2021-22) under Coach Pagiel that finished third at the National Christian Homeschool Basketball Championships (NCHBC). Coach Mark was also the Assistant Coach of the 14U Blue Boys' Team (2023-24) under Coach Watts that were National Champions! Mark has led practices and filled in as Head Coach in multiple games when called upon to fill in. He is pleased with the confidence instilled in him by the other Coaches, Coach Carven Holcombe, and HSAA Basketball Commissioner Earl Toler.
Coach Mark started playing basketball when he was just 4 years old, and still plays regularly! His love of sports and the lessons they can teach has led him to Head Coach and Assistant Coach youth basketball, soccer, baseball, and flag football for the past 14 years. He has extensive experience training boys in the technical, tactical, mental, and emotional aspects of each sport. In addition to coaching HSAA Basketball, Coach Mark has served as the Head Coach for both HSAA Varsity and JV Boys Soccer.
Mark is guided by his passion to develop boys into Strong, Confident, Christian Leaders. He uses these guiding principles in how he raises his two boys, and carries it over into all aspects of his coaching. Coach Mark has been tremendously blessed, and is proud to share Jesus’s love with all those around him!
