Tiffany N. Lockett

Coach Tiffany Lockett has been coaching and training in Texas since arriving in 2020. With more than 15 years of coaching and training experience, Coach Lockett has seen and been a part of development at all stages of the game of basketball.  She is a former Head Coach at Trinity Washington University after serving as an Assistant Coach at Thomas College in Waterville, Maine. There, she helped guide the Terriers to their best record in 7 seasons.

Before spending the 2017-18 season in Maine, Lockett, who lived in the DC metropolitan area for almost 20 years, was the Head Coach at Forest Park High School (Woodbridge, VA) from 2014-2016. She left Forest Park in 2016 to set up a competitive junior national and sub-regional basketball program in St. Lucia (Eastern Caribbean) as a part of a partnership between the St. Lucia Ministry of Youth Development and Sports and the Peace Corps. Unfortunately, a sudden and unexpected illness prevented her from relocating internationally. Lockett also worked for Monumental Sports (based in Washington, DC) and the Jr. NBA where she helped facilitate camps, clinics, and other Washington Wizards/Mystics youth basketball events.

Before starting her coaching career, Lockett was a firefighter and emergency medical technician (EMT) for 6 years with the Prince William County Department of Fire and Rescue in Virginia.

Lockett, a native of Wooster, Ohio, was an All-Ohio 1st Team basketball player her senior year of high school (1988-89). She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management from Baldwin-Wallace University (’93) where she was a member of the Varsity Basketball team and still holds the record for most free throws made in a single game. She was also a 4-year member of the Baldwin-Wallace Track & Field team (shot put, discus, and javelin). In 2012, she earned her Master’s degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University Irvine (CA). In 2011, she was inducted into the Wooster High School All Sports Hall of Fame for her outstanding achievements as a 3-sport athlete (basketball, volleyball, and track & field).

Today, Lockett coaches and trains for the Dallas Mavericks Youth Academy, Girls Empowered by Mavericks (GEM program) and the Mavs Academy Basketball Club (MABC program). Lockett trains and coaches at Shoot360, which is a virtual basketball training facility. Lockett also coaches for various AAU and league organizations where development is the main focus. She is an active member of the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and a USA Basketball Gold Certified Coach. Lockett is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and currently resides in The Colony, TX. Lockett still plays 3v3 on the national circuit.
